The Challenge: Agnew Moyer Smith Redesign

 

The Company: Agnew Moyer Smith has spent 20 plus years in the business of communication. They pride themselves on a free exchange of ideas, peer critiques, and brainstorming sessions. They love being able to work alongside their clients and want their workspace to reflect their objectives and processes.

 

Goals: It is important to not lose any productivity and creativity by downsizing to the Idamont location, and the re-use of the existing Steelcase furniture and the Steelcase Answer system is key. Creating a space that allows for a strong and healthy social network between the employees is critical for idea sharing, innovation, and learning. Finding ways to make work visible not only to employees but to clients that visit the site. The space must be able to support the different work styles of the departments and bolster effective work styles.

The use of proxemics is important in keeping different departments close to one another and in communication especially when they work together often. There are seven different departments that will be linked by the use of proxemics to allow for more idea sharing and learning.Conveniently placed conference rooms and impromptu meeting places are essential to idea sharing and brainstorming. The placement and use of project rooms is important so that all employees have access and can schedule times to utilize the high powered team space.
